What Does It Smell Like?
Jack Black Dry Down has a ton of ingredients, such as; cornstarch, silica, zinc oxide, boron, lavender oil, chamomile oil, cucumber extract and various types of flower extracts.
All these ingredients are mashed up to produce a very unique smell.
Its fragrance is dominated by lavender and green tea, with the latter being the stronger of the two.
So, if you are a bit sick and tired of menthol and mint smelling men powders, Jack Black's is quite unique.
How Long Does It Last?
In terms of soaking up sweat and moisture, nothing works better than talc powder.
And as Jack Black's Dry Down is a non-talc cornstarch-based men's powder, it doesn't have the same staying power that something like Balla has.
That said, it will work for a long time.
In practical terms, that means you will probably have to re-apply it every 8 hours or so, or perhaps a few times a shift or session if you are doing heavy manual work and your boys are dripping sweat all over the place.
For guys stuck in the office all day however, this should last you the entire day fairly easily.
How The Talc Feels & How To Apply It
Compared to a fine talc like Balla, Jack Black's Dry Down is a bit more on the gritty side. That being said, it dissolves extremely quickly onto your man parts and doesn't leave any white after-effects for more than a few minutes at the most.
Also, because it is a non-talc cornstarch based powder, some men may have adverse skin effects when applying it. This will usually just look like red spots where it was applied.
However, because of the array of extracts and oils infused with the powder, the product does a very good job at protecting against chafing, especially in your inner thighs.
It also comes in a good amount, at 170 grams, which should easily last you a few months with everyday use.
The high point of Jack Black's Dry Down however is probably it's applicator tip.
It comes in a standard can with a pop-top and three medium-sized distributor holes.
Whereas with something like Balla you will need to shake more than 3-4 times, or something like a typical J&J baby powder that easily gets all over the place, Jack Black's tip takes no more than a few shakes for just the right amount to dispense into your hand.
This product smells great and truly does the trick. I can't imagine a better solution for those who workout regularly. A little goes a long way, so I think you can justify the price, if you appreciate quality over quantity.
