As you can see from the name of each, the two soaps are designed to help you fight bacteria. According to Dial, their antibacterial soaps is made with Benzalkonium Chloride, an antimicrobial agent that not only kill microorganisms but also inhibit their growth. This particular ingredient is used in antibacterial creams, ointments, and even hand wipes. Similarly, Dove also claims that the soap can remove up to 99% of bacteria. So, both soaps combine their cleaning properties with antibacterial properties to give you skin all the care it needs to shine, become moisturized, and nourished.
The Cost
I checked the official website of both brands and I couldn’t get a price for either soap. On their site, Dove will refer you to different stops where you can shop for the soap. I think it’s the same with Dial.
From my understanding, Dove is slightly more expensive than Dial. I checked both Amazon and Walmart for the prices since the prices are missing on the official websites. An 8 bar of Dove, for instance, costs more than $10 on Walmart. Dial’s 12 bar, on the other hand, is just above $7.

I decided to check one of the versions of the Dove and Dial soaps on Amazon. The reviews on both brands are generally positive. That’s to say that the majority of users are satisfied with the purchase of either soap. At the time of this writing, there are over 8000 reviews on Amazon for the Dove soap, and over 2000 for Dial. Majority are positive, with both brands scoring 4.8 out of 5 rating. I was thinking that Dove will be more popular. I was surprised to see thousands of reviews customers are leaving for Dial too. Which means they’re both doing well.

I like that the Dove soap doesn’t contain alcohol. Even though it’s a very small amount that’s present in the Dial soap, alcohol is alcohol. Both contain parfum though, so that’s something you want to pay attention to if you’re sensitive to that. Another ingredient I’d like to point to is glycerin, which is an emolient that provides skin hydration. Only Dial has it but absent in Dove.
